Middletown, CT, August 5, 2024 — Following a detailed analysis of data obtained from the Connecticut Secretary of the State in December 2022, August 2023, and June 2024, we identified 181,418 names (an increase from 169,351) of individuals who haven’t voted in at least four years but remain on the active voter list. Additionally, 158,980 names, down from 163,595, belong to individuals who have been inactive for more than five years and should legally be transferred to the “off” list.

FVF, Inc. also found 1,205 registered voters, down from 1,414, with voter registration dates listed as January 1, 1800. These are just a few of the anomalies that Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. brought to the attention of Connecticut Registrars of Voters on October 2, 2023, which have yet to be addressed.

Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. sent this information to every Registrar of Voters in Connecticut in October 2023 and is now sending it again, highlighting the worsening performance of our elected officials. The Secretary of the State also received a letter regarding the inadequate cleaning of voter rolls before a major election ahead of the presidential race in November 2024.

As stated in an email from the Secretary of the State dated August 23, 2023: “The registrars of voters in each town are responsible for the maintenance of their towns’ voter rolls.” In a letter to Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. dated June 24, 2024, the Secretary of the State stated: “As you know, although the Office of the Connecticut Secretary of the State maintains a state-wide centralized voter registration system (See Connecticut General Statutes Title 9, Section 50b), the Registrar of Voters in each town are exclusively responsible for the data in the system for the electors in their town (See Connecticut General Statutes Title 9, Section 7b).”

CT State Statute 9-35 (e) states: “If the registrar does not receive the return card within thirty days after it is sent, the elector’s name, including the name of an elector who has not voted in two consecutive federal elections, shall be placed on the inactive registry list for four years. At the expiration of such period of time on the inactive registry list, such name shall be removed from the registry list.”

Why is Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. being told that Connecticut’s voter rolls comply with the law when this is another example of a failed system affecting our votes at the polls? We are demanding answers, not excuses. This is an ongoing violation of the NVRA (National Voter Registration Act) and HAVA (Help America Vote Act). In October 2023, Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. raised concerns about why the voter rolls were not being properly cleaned according to Connecticut State Statutes but received no answers.
