Middletown, CT, July 30, 2024 — Between July 12, 2022, and May 15, 2024, Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. (FVF, Inc.) investigated the presence of deceased individuals on Connecticut’s voter rolls from November 2020. FVF, Inc. identified and documented each registered deceased voter, providing this evidence to the Registrar of Voters via certified mail. The investigation uncovered that out of 7,758 registered deceased voters, 542 had cast votes in the 2020 election, with some instances of in-person voting. As of June 11, 2024, 56 out of Connecticut’s 169 towns still have not removed deceased voters from their voter rolls, according to the updated data purchased by Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. from the State of Connecticut.
Connecticut State Statute, Sec. 9-35 (b) clearly states: At such session and on any day except on the day of an election or primary, the registrars shall remove from the list the name of each elector who has died, who has been disfranchised or who has confirmed in writing that the elector has moved out of the municipality, except electors entitled to remain on such list under the provisions of this chapter.
Non-Compliant Towns: Ansonia, Bethlehem, Bridgeport, Brookfield, Canton, Cheshire, Colchester, Danbury, Deep River, East Hartford, East Lyme, East Windsor, Fairfield, Farmington, Greenwich, Griswold, Groton, Haddam, Hamden, Hampton, Hartford, Hebron, Killingly, Lebanon, Manchester, Mansfield, Middlebury, Middletown, Milford, Monroe, Montville, Morris, Naugatuck, New Canaan, New Hartford, New Haven, New London, New Milford, Newington, North Haven, Old Lyme, Orange, Plymouth, Putnam, Rocky Hill, Seymour, Shelton, Sprague, Stamford, Stonington, Trumbull, Waterbury, Winchester, Windham, Windsor and Woodbury
Even more concerning is that while many of these deceased voters have not voted in decades, some are still classified as “active.” This clearly violates Connecticut State Statute 9-35 (e), which states, “If the registrar does not receive the return card within thirty days after it is sent, the elector’s name, including the name of an elector who has not voted in two consecutive federal elections, shall be placed on the inactive registry list for four years. At the expiration of such period of time on the inactive registry list, such name shall be removed from the registry list.” This process is outlined in the August 31, 2020, legislative research report from Kristin Sullivan, available here.
The list and evidence of deceased voters who have not been removed from the rolls in 56 towns are available at the Registrar of Voters office in each respective city or town. Over the past two years, all 169 Registrars of Voters in Connecticut have received this information for their respective areas. Many Registrars of Voters complied, recognizing that the information provided by Fight Voter Fraud, Inc. to elected officials should also be accessible to the public upon request under the Freedom of Information Act. Accurate voter rolls ensure that ineligible individuals do not vote and that the names of deceased individuals are not exploited and used for fraudulent purposes. The Registrar of Voters is responsible for cleaning and maintaining voter rolls; failing to do so violates the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) of 1993 and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA).
